I haven't been here in a long time, so I decided to stop for lunch. This place is in Mills center, a few doors down from Diamond Billiards. I always say the best Mexican restaurants are the little hole in the walls, where English is the second language in the kitchen. (also, in the dining area. ). That's this place. It's a little mom and pop place, with a fantastic and large menu. The prices are reasonable, and the food is authentic. Today, I decided to have the sopes. Fried masa cakes. With beans, meat, lettuce, crema, (Mexican sour cream,), and cheese. I should've ordered only one, I ordered two, and I was stuffed! The masa cake is fried, but it did not taste greasy at all. It Was tender and rich. There was a generous portion of the refried beans,(definitely not canned...) as well as the proteins. I had one chicken and one beef. They didn't overdo it with the lettuce, and the crema and the cheese were also very good. It also came. With a green salsa that did not have too much heat, that I also liked a lot. They have a small Panaderia, (Mexican bakery), and while the Mexican grocery store that used to be in the back of the space is no longer there, they do have a small selection of Mexican and Latin goods such as tortillas, sauces, etc. I was absolutely thrilled to see that they carry salsa Lizano. I fell in love with the stuff when I was in Costa Rica. You find it everywhere down there, including on every restaurant table.. It has the color and consistency of Worcestershire sauce, but the resemblance ends there. It has a rich slightly spicy, and a little bit Smokey flavor. You can put it on absolutely anything. Heck, you could put this stuff on a flip-flop and it would taste good. :) I hope they will continue to carry it... A great place, and I will keep coming back. Thank you.

Omg the food is amazing!!!!!!' Lemme start by saying it was so good I forgot to take pictures!!! Well of the taco at least. I ordered an adobada taco which is basically a street taco and although it was only 3.99 I just felt like they could have been a little more meat.. but I'm also not gonna complain too much cuz it was bomb diggity!! I also got 2 pupusas chicharron y pollo ( pork n chicken) and chicharron y queso ( pork n cheese). Both very delish!!! I can honestly say I will be back to try the rest of the menu!! I feel like this place is decently priced and amazing flavor

If you're in the area and haven't tried this place, you are definitely missing out. It is a small mom and pop shop and they do not miss in the kitchen. There's definitely nothing worse than when you go to eat at a Mexican restaurant that supposedly is "authentic Mexican" and the serve you canned beans. This place is everything homemade even the tortillas are handmade in front of you. Don't even get me started on the pupusas..... And even after you're finished eating, if you can fit more room, they have a bakery, and you could take fresh Mexican bread home. All kinds of Mexican bread and that's not hard, unlike other places that look great and once you get home, it's hard as a rock. This place has them fresh. Come early in the morning for the best selection of bread because it goes fast. Authentic home made Mexican food nowadays is really really rare here in United States as all these new restaurants show up and try to sell you on how the building looks inside instead of the food. This place does not have that issue at all. Trust me on that. Food is great, prices are even better. If you want a great experience and quick service, this place is for you. But because it is a small shop sometimes you may have to wait a little bit, the husband and the wife are usually preoccupied with other customers. But if you want somebody to come check on you every five minutes go to a restaurant in downtown where you pay 10 times a price before you even sit. This place does not miss, definitely try

Excellent customer service. I didn't know they also serve aqua de horchata and it's absolutely great. Their pupusas are cheesy and the tortilla taste freshly madd.

I'm 90% vegetarian so my comments are limited to their Veggie Super Burrito. Frankly it's the best. Flavor rich and delicious. Believe me, I have been trying to find one for years and this is it. Like most taquerias, it's a humble place operated by honest, hard working family members. Thank the gods I finally found it!

Best pupusas in the area! Stopped by passing through towards the Bay Area. We were the last customers.., we literally dined with the owners. The whole family helps. Sweetest family! Support their business. The pupusas were packed and yummy.

Five stars because it's exactly what a hole-in-wall El Salvadorean place should be. Not fancy not pricey. Pupusas are as good as I've had. Everything made from scratch and takes time. Got 5 different types of pupusas tacos drinks and bread for $26. I plan on coming here more now that I've found it. The best food is almost always found in not so sparkly looking places. So stop complaining if you thought there were bugs. There are bugs everywhere. Deal with it or go to one of the flavorless Hispanic restaurants that cater to white people but have nice decor. This one is the real deal.
